When we met on site for the first time, at first glance, the existing home appeared to be unfinished! The primary deficiency were various roofs that resembled those seen at a McDonalds, not a residence. Working with some of the existing Prairie Style elements, the home was transformed into a New England Contemporary styled home with simple lines both inside and out. Windows with a modern proportion, clapboards with a greater exposure, deep overhangs, and a simple color scheme contribute to the contemporary theme. Inside, simple details area a backdrop to the homeowner’s selections of art and furniture.
