Benjamin Nutter Architects has just finished installing solar panels in an effort to transition entirely to solar energy. In order to become more energy efficient and eliminate the need to purchase electricity from National Grid, the South side of Ben Nutter’s roof has been paneled with photovoltaic cells that will convert solar energy into electricity. These panels work with an inverter that will convert the electricity generated by the solar panels into the standard electrical current that is needed to power a business and home. In order to make sure that the solar panels are generating as much energy needed to run Ben Nutter’s home as well as Benjamin Nutter Architects’ office, the monitoring system will continuously track the energy production.
The initial investment to install the solar panels will be paid off in less than five years. After that, Benjamin Nutter Architects will be unplugged from the grid.
